Stories on the Brain and Paint on the Face

Ever since Renee was a little one, she has loved to create stories and share them with anyone who would stop to listen. Sometimes, if she had the perfect audience, she would even act out the scenes. Now that was fun!

As she's gotten older, the stories have gotten longer and more detailed. She's also started to ask for more props to go along with these stories. Of course, good theatre is not complete without some rockin' stage make-up. Lucky for her, I love to paint. What better canvas than Renee's sweet face?

Today, we brought some of the characters from her latest creation to life. First up, please meet Twister, the evil, edgy sister of Tornado.

And, because a good day is not perfect unless you paint a face, wash it off, and paint it again, we just had to continue our fun. This is Purrrfect Nutmeg Pie.

I am having a little trouble getting her to wash this one off. ;)

Good job!

Very nice! It even matches her shirt. =)

Face painting fun

Yup...good thinking on my part. I refrained from picking up my brushes this morning just in case an opportunity like this presented itself!

And now, a word from Miss Renee

Yup. I realize that you're probably going to hate me for expecting you to turn your head to the side to watch this video.

Trust me...you'll enjoy that experience much more than hearing about how long I worked at trying to rotate the darn thing. I'm just lovin' my Kodak camera at this very moment...NOT!

So, on with the show.

Feeling much better now!

Why do summer colds make us feel so terrible?

Yup...the germs were flying around the Badelves' house this past week. Renee had it the worst, I caught the tail end of it, and Mark and Mom got lucky and avoided the whole thing.

So, after too many days of being cooped up, it was time to break free.

What better way to start the afternoon than to get creative with our new face paint?

If you could only see the sparkles!

Face painting fun!

When you are surprised with a stormy afternoon you must make good use of it.

See what you can achieve with a new set of face paints and a little experimentation?
